Since 1929, the American Lung Association of Hawaii (ALAH) has served hundreds of thousands of people by providing lung disease prevention awareness and lung health promotion. Education and advocacy efforts continue to support asthma education, tobacco control and air quality awareness. The ALAH supports research programs that improve and develop new protocols to reduce suffering from lung disease. The American Lung Association of Hawaii is committed to helping improve life, one breath at a time.
The Asthma Education Programs include Open Airways for Schools, Asthma 101 and Asthma Sports Day Camp.
Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Programs include: Freedom From Smoking® Clinics, Freedom From Smoking Clinics, the Lung Helpline 1-800-LUNG-USA, Not on Tobacco (a teen cessation program), the New Year’s Resolution event, Word of Mouth (an elementary school-based prevention program), and the Workplace Smoking Cessation Programs.
